Love & Understanding by Kool & The Gang

Produced by K.G Productions (1976 Delite Records)

Arranged by Kool & The Gang

Portions of this album were recorded live at the Rainbow Theatre in London, England

Kool & The Gang released two albums in 1976. The classic "Open Sesame" and "Love & Understanding" which used live material recorded in London. "Love & Understanding" is very funky and yet under-appreciated. It has a fantastic live version of "Summer Madness" which is reason alone to own this slice of neglected funk. The title track is solid and tight. "Sugar" has a Marvin Gaye feel to it and has some great Bass by Robert 'Kool' Bell. The live portion of the album starts with a stomping version of "Hollywood Swinging". The final track of the album "Come Together" is banging and rocks at any party!
